Maybe you’d like to get an idea of what you might be getting yourself into when you visit a worship service in an unfamiliar church? Worship at Christ Our Redeemer consists of four essential components.
1) Music and songs:
The music at COR is generally simple and contemporary in style, trying at the same time to borrow from the rich traditions of past generations and other cultures. On any given Sunday, our music team can include vocals accompanied by accousic guitar, bass guitar, flute, harp, piano, and/or percussion.

2) Prayer:
After the younger kids head downstairs to their childrens’ classes, we enter into a time of prayer which is usually led by an individual or couple from the congregation. We are invited to share needs, or stories of how God has been active in our daily lives, and then the floor is open for anyone to pray aloud as they feel led. Prayer at COR doesn’t always mean “someone speaking aloud”. As someone once pointed out, we are also “not afraid of silence”.
3) Teaching:
A worship service at COR will also include teaching. Pastor Tom Oster will challenge us with a Biblically-based, culturally relevant message. Past sermons can be accessed here.
4) The Lord’s Table:
Every other Sunday, we celebrate the Lord’s Table as worship draws to an end. (You may know the Lord’s Table by other terms such as the Lord’s Supper, Communion, or Eucharist.) We do this to remember Christ’s sacrifice for us and the new life that His sacrifice has made possible.
Please consider joining us, and come as you are!
