This Fall, we have been developing our new Food Distribution Ministry. This is “not a handout, but a hand up”, which is the description that Angel Food Ministries uses to describe their national food distribution ministry. With half a million boxes of food every month, they have tremendous buying power and thus can offer $50-$60 worth of groceries for only $30!! Angel Food Ministries basically doubles people’s food budgets. Anyone can buy a box (or as many boxes as they want) by ordering on-line or by coming by Base Camp (COR’s offices in Grandin Village). The program even accepts Food Stamp vouchers as payment. You can find out all of our local site info…menus, pickup times, contact info, etc…all right here. We usually distribute the food on the Saturday closest to the middle of each month at Virginia Heights Elementary School (Grandin Rd. and Memorial Ave.) from 9:30 am to 11:00 am.
